James G. Kotapish, D.D.S., M.S.
Dr. James Kotapish received his D.D.S. from The Ohio State University College of Dentistry in 1981. Upon graduation, he spent the following three years at Parris Island, SC, with the U.S. Navy Dental Corps. From 1984 through 1990, he was engaged in the private practice of dentistry in Akron, Ohio. His focus on restorative dentistry , eventually narrowed to endodontics, which led him to West Virginia University from 1990 to 1992, where he obtained his M.S. and certificate in endodontics. Upon graduation, he returned to private practice in Akron. A challenge he welcomes is staying current with the many recent innovations affecting both non-surgical and surgical endodontic treatment modalities.
He is certified by the American Board of Endodontics, and has Fellowships in the American College of Dentists, and International College of Dentists. Dr. Kotapish is active in organized dentistry and is past president of the Akron Dental Society and Ohio Association of Endodontists. He is a member of the American Dental Association, American Association of Endodontists, and the College of Diplomates of the American Board of Endodontics.
He is married to Susan, and has two children, Kate and Matthew. In his spare time he enjoys reading, exercising, golfing, fly-fishing, and is an ardent fan of the Cleveland professional sports teams and Ohio State Buckeyes.
